I guess this qualifies as a budget shaver from the Philips range, but you certainly wouldn't know it. OK, it doesn't have any of the fancy Cool Skin features, it's just a standard triple head shaver. Firstly, it charges quickly (less than an hour) and is very quiet in operation. It also gives an extremely close comfortable shave, far better than most shavers that cost a lot more. It can be cleaned under the tap, or brushed out with the included brush. The shaver has 3 LED indicators, one that remains on whilst the shaver is in use, one that indicates when the shaver is being charged, and one that indicates when you have only a small amount of charge remaining. The shaver also includes a pop out trimmer that works extremely well, and a nice travel pouch. The build quality feels excellent, not flimsy like some of the new Philips range. In fact, I rate this shaver far more highly than any of the foil shavers or Cool Skin Philips shavers I have tried recently. All this proves that you don't need to spend a fortune, or have docking stations, multiple LED/LCD displays etc to get a close comfortable shave. Highly recommended, a definite 5 star product!

Strangely I bought this shaver because I have Leukemia and wet shaving was a problem if I cut myself, Its many years since I had a dry shave, I am very pleasantly suprised by the effectiveness of the Philips shaver and the battery power and being able to rinse the heads in water is a real bonus. Well worth the money.

With my bald head I felt uncomfortable when reviewing hair dryer and hair straighteners - but now feel well qualified to review the Philips HQ7380 7300 Series Rotary Male Shaver. I have had four Philips rotary shavers over the last forty years, starting with a double fixed head mains only, and I am about to discard my triple floating head re-chargeable (model 6868) in favour of this new unit. There have been no problems whatsoever, and all previous models have given excellent service, apart from sharpening my first and purchasing replacement cutters for floating heads on later models. The new re-chargeable rotary shaver arrives nicely packaged (not easy to open!) with protective cap, lead, cleaning brush, travel pouch and user manual. On unpacking it appears as robust as its predecessors, and in addition to the serviceable smooth finish there are welcome rubber grips for easy handling, and the on/off push switch is now illuminated.
The shaver houses LED indicators for charging and battery condition. It is described as re-chargeable but it seems as if it will work OK with charging lead plugged into mains if battery is un-charged. The lead incorporates a small transformer that allows automatic selection of 115 volt or 230 volt - Philips refer to "V100-240". I cannot yet comment on charging time or battery life, quoted on the box as 1 hour charging for 10 day use (comparing with 1 hour/45 minutes quoted for 6868), but I foresee no problems.
Philips literature refers to "lift and cut technology" and I can testify to the HQ7380 giving the closest shave I've had for some time (I confess it's 3 years since my present cutters were replaced) and rather than just slots for cutters I note the new combination of slots and micro holes for dealing effectively with longer hairs and shorter stubble. Also shaving is improved by the Philips "reflex action" whereby the movements of the triple head (marginally larger area than previous 6868) more successfully allow cutters to individually adjust to the contours of upper lip, chin, cheeks and neck. In width the pop up trimmer for side-burns (sorry I don't have a moustache) is very similar but overall the unit is slightly bulkier. An advantage is provision for a considerably enlarged void for collecting cut hair. However the greatest difference to my earlier model is the option for rinsing under the tap. I tried this (with some trepidation) and all was well - the unit is waterproof and the cutters appear anti-corrosion. I felt a little apprehensive about immediately fitting the protective head cap and left this until completely dry. Brush cleaning will still be necessary but time spent will be diminished.
I can add a `comment' to my review in due course to confirm performance in use, but I fully expect to be shaving with this Philips HQ7380 in 10 years time.

My husband's comments are as follows:
I have for many years had a corded Philips shaver but required a battery one for use in hospital and so automatically chose another Philips model. I was not disappointed in my choice of the HQ7380. I required one which would recharge quickly which this model does in one hour. It runs for about a week, a little less than advertised but long enough for me. It is extremely quiet and gives a good shave with an effective cutter as well. I have no complaints at all except that getting through the initial packaging is a bit of a nightmare and should be made easier. Overall, well done again Philips.

Very pleased. Quiet, Removes neck hairs which has always been a problem with my previous Foil and blade razor. One charge lasts a week of shaves.
Would definately recomend this shaver.
